Bruxism or Teeth Grinding refers to persistent grinding and clenching of the teeth, inadvertently, and at wrong times. Bruxers (individuals with bruxism) are often ignorant that they have developed this habit, and often do not know that treatment is available until damage to the mouth and teeth have been done.
Types of Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
Bruxism is classified frequently as either:
Awake Bruxism. Patient regularly clench teeth and jaw when awake
Sleep Bruxism. Patient subconsciously grinds teeth and squeezes your jaw muscles in sleep. Partners may take notice of the grinding or clenching, which can be noisy.
Primary Bruxism. ?It occurs without any underlying medical condition
Secondary Bruxism.?It is caused by another condition such as depression or anxiety, medication such as antidepressants or drugs.
Tooth Grinding
Causes of Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
Bruxism or Teeth Grinding?can be caused not just by stress and anxiety but also by sleep disorders, an abnormal bite or teeth that are missing or crooked. Bruxism often affects persons with nervous tension such as anger, pain, or frustration, and/or persons with aggressive, hurried, or overly competitive tendencies.
Although in adults teeth grinding is often the result of stress, the same is not always correct with children. Other possible causes of teeth grinding in children?include:
Irritation in the mouth
Allergies
Misaligned teeth
Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
Symptoms of Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
The symptoms of teeth grinding?include following:-
Dull headaches
Jaw soreness
Teeth that are painful or loose
Fractured teeth
Abraded teeth
Chipped or cracked teeth
Facial pain
Overly sensitive teeth
Tense facial and jaw muscles
Headaches
Dislocation of the jaw
Wearing away of the tooth enamel, exposing the underlying dentin (inside of the tooth)
A popping or clicking in the temporomandibular joint
Tongue indentations
Damage to the inside of the cheek
Diagnosis of Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
The teeth are examined for evidence of Bruxism, it is often pointed out by the tips of the teeth appearing flat. If signs and symptoms are present, the condition will be monitored for changes over the several subsequent visits before a treatment program is established.
Treatment of Bruxism or Teeth Grinding
Mouth Guard for Bruxism
Behavior Adjustment Educating the patient how to rest his/her tongue, teeth, and lips properly, and training how to rest the tongue upward may ease discomfort on the jaw while keeping the teeth apart and lips closed.
Mouthguard An especially built-in plastic mouth appliance may be worn at night to absorb the power of biting. This appliance may be of assistance to prevent future damage to the teeth and assist in changing the patient?s behavior.
Biofeedback Biofeedback involves an electronic instrument that measures the amount of muscle activity of the mouth and jaw. It ?indicates the patient when too much muscle activity is taking place so that the behavior can be changed. This is especially helpful for daytime bruxers.
Botox. ?It weakens the muscle enough to reduce the effects of grinding and clenching, but not so much as to prevent proper use of the muscle. Botox treatment typically involves five or six injections into the masseter muscles. It takes a few minutes per side, and the patient starts feeling the effects the next day
We tend to look outside of ourselves for answers to problems.? It?s just easier to say that someone or something else is responsible for a communication breakdown or misunderstanding.? It takes practice to look at our interpersonal interactions in a more responsible and honest way, but the rewards are well worth it.
Introspection, the process of observing one?s own life, can help you understand your motives, psychology and self-image, which effectively allows you to also change them.? If you want to understand how something works, you study it.? Introspection is just that - a sort of research we are doing on ourselves.? Through meditating and envisioning our actions throughout the day, we learn more about who we are, which allows us to change things we don?t like and improve on things about ourselves that we do.?
Looking inside of myself like this, has resulted in a greater peace in life for me.? By looking at how I have acted through the day, I have become more aware and feel like a happier person.? It feels good understanding myself, making it not so painful after all to take responsibility for my weaknesses and failures.?
Although facing your weaknesses does make you stronger, this practice is not about dwelling on the past and your shortcomings.? When you come across something about yourself that you don?t like, it becomes much easier to just change it and avoid it in the future.? Introspection allows you to react to situations in more controlled and predictable way and makes it less confusing to talk about your feelings with other people.
Studying your own life can also be a great way to discover and focus on an interest or skill, which could lead to all sorts of new and positive experiences and behavior.? The self-confidence of introspection gives you the power to act on things you discover that you enjoy.
Practicing Introspection
The more you understand about yourself and the world, the more you will be able to get out of it.? If you want to start practicing introspection and open up new possibilities for yourself, start by setting aside 10 minutes of the day for yourself.
Once you are seated comfortably in a quiet place, close your eyes and take a few deeps breaths to relax.? Start replaying your day in your head as it happened, envisioning everything you did in as much detail as you can recall.??
It should flow like a movie, complete with details, like what was playing on the radio and in what sequence, exactly what you wore, the exact words you used, etc.? Skip things you get caught up on and try and visualize your day as if you were an outsider looking in.?
Each week you can add new techniques to your practice, including:
Stopping the film when you notice you do something you don?t like. ?Tell yourself you want to do less of that.
Stopping the film when you do something you like. ?Tell yourself you want to do more of that.
Ask yourself questions, such as why you act certain ways.
Substitute new behaviors for old ones ? embed a new clip altogether or replace one you want to leave on the cutting room floor.
It?s no great secret that Facebook is the hottest spot for social gathering since Studio 54. Since its launch in 2004, nearly a billion people have flocked to the site.
Facebook and other social media sites have enjoyed stunning popularity over the past several years. By users own reports, however, many don?t seem to be unlocking the full potential of social media as a tool for both social and professional interaction.
SEE ALSO: Sorry, Marketers, You?re Doing Facebook Wrong [REPORT]
A study of North American adults, conducted by Concept Metrics and sponsored by The Marketing Distillery, found people belong to almost two social networks on average. The same people who are rushing to sign up for these networks said they find ?real life? interaction to be richer, yet they are not using social media to facilitate face-to-face meetings.
?All of us Internet users are fast becoming social network users with more than 60% of us belonging to an online social network,? JP Clement, founder and CAO of The Marketing Distillery, tells Mashable. ?But that social online behavior is not translating to an increase in social behavior offline.?
Check out the following graphic, created by The Marketing Distillery, that summarizes the findings of the Concept Metrics study. Then, interact in the comment section and let us know how you use social media as a tool to enrich your life, both socially and professionally.

Mammoths and saber-toothed cats may be the most famous beasts of the Ice Age. But they shared the prairie with horses and camels, too?both of which evolved in North America and crossed the ice bridge into Eurasia, before disappearing here. Matthew Kohn and Christopher Hill talk about the lesser-known fauna of the Ice Age.
WHEN Mexican police found a body in the woods it was burned beyond recognition, its DNA too damaged to be used for identification. Luckily, investigators were able to extract DNA from elsewhere - the digestive systems of maggots that had been feeding on the body. This is the first time that human DNA from a maggot gut has been analysed in this way to successfully identify a victim in a legal case.
Police suspected that the body was that of a woman who had been abducted 10 weeks earlier because they found her high-school graduation ring near the crime scene. But when forensic investigators failed to obtain a decent DNA sample from any of the body's tissues, they turned to a team of pathologists at the Autonomous University of Nuevo Le?n in San Nicol?s, Mexico.
Mar?a de Lourdes Ch?vez-Briones, Marta Ortega-Mart?nez and their colleagues dissected three maggot larvae collected from the body and extracted the contents of their gastrointestinal tracts. The human DNA they isolated allowed them to determine that the body was female. They then performed a paternity test between this DNA and that of the abducted woman's father. It revealed a 99.7 per cent chance that she was his daughter (Journal of Forensic Science, doi.org/jdv).
Although it is rare for a body to be so damaged that investigators would have to resort to this technique, there are other instances in which the process could be useful, says Jeffrey Wells of Florida International University in Miami. For instance, a maggot found in a car could be used as evidence that the vehicle had been used to transport a particular corpse.
The past decade has seen a lot of research on isolating human DNA from insects, says Martin Hall of the Natural History Museum in London, but it has only rarely been used in courts. Last year, DNA from the guts of maggots found on a headless corpse and on a head discovered nearby were used as evidence in a Chinese court that the body parts were from the same person (Tropical Biomedicine, vol 28, p 333).
Insects at crime scenes are too often ignored, says Hall. He hopes that the new paper will alert police and pathologists to their potential as crime-fighters.

From his Speech to Reform ?Value for Money? event, 27th-Sep-2012 David Weston, Chief Executive, Teacher Development Trust
"In 2007, a team of researchers in New Zealand reported on a school
intervention that led to pupils making two and a half years of progress
in their writing skills compared to the single year of progress made by
their peers in the control group, while the least able 20% ? those
disadvantaged pupils who had struggled most in school ? made even more
staggering progress, equivalent to six years of schooling when compared
to peers outside the study. This intervention was inexpensive, welcomed
by teachers and their unions, reduced inequality, and easily replicable
in any school in the world."
"This same intervention has been reliably proven to result in greater
achievement gains in schools than introducing performance pay for
teachers, reducing class sizes, introducing ability setting, hiring more
teaching assistants, facilitating parental choice .... and setting regular homework."
The magic intervention? Training.
OK David Weston is CEO of the Teacher Development Trust, so he would say that wouldn't he? But what if, what if, he is correct?? What if 'training' - initial training, continuous professional development - is the key?
What should we in conductive education be saying to David Weston and to the Teacher Development Trust about the training of teachers of children with cerebral palsy in the UK?? That their training should include learning something about cerebral palsy? Should include training in disability-specific pedagogies?? What more?
We would have to tell him that in the UK such training is not currently possible. We would have to tell him that in the UK, as things stand, it is possible to step for the first time into a classroom where there are children with cerebral palsy, possibly with statements of special educational needs, and not have the slightest clue about what to do next or first or why.
However, let's be more positive. What shall we tell David Weston that initial training and continuous professional development should be like for those who would teach children with cerebral palsy, especially those with statements?
What would you include? What would you tell him? What would you say to him about the training of conductors?

When trail riding, you?re expected to follow proper riding etiquette for uphill or downhill riding. As is the case with all aspects of pony riding, success depends on good balance.
Even when freed from riders, a horse finds travelling downhill difficult. The problem is compounded when he has got a rider astride. It is necessary that you ease his strain as much as you can. Your pony will signal his problem in terribly obvious ways: he will tend to rush or to toss his head. He may even try some bucking. All of this signifies that he?s having a tough time with his balance.
Again as is the case with all aspects of horse riding, make sure your saddle is fitted completely correct. Shifting saddles cause discomfort, even agony; horses tend to go quicker than necessary, even if they are on a slope, to escape from the agony. You should also find out about riding on slopes before you attempt to do so. Remember, it is not just the pony, you also , as the rider, can make a significant difference.
Here is the common mistake made by riders, particularly the novices, while going downhill: they get their horses to zigzag down the slope. They have the mistaken impression this is more safe. In truth, though, this isn?t a good idea on slopes without trails or switchbacks. When you get a horse to go diagonally down a slope, your horse will be incapable of finding balance at his hindquarters. He is most balanced when his hindquarters are aligned with the remainder of his body; otherwise he is likely to keel over. That would not be a nice thing, would it?
The great temptation is to goof around with your position in the saddle when riding down a slope, it is dangerous to surrender to this temptation. You should stay put as you are balancing your body over your feet and with your weight bearing down on your heels. Keep looking up and forward, not downward.
Another tendency is for riders to lean back in the mistaken impression this is going to help the pony. It doesn?t. The pony needs free hindquarters to move easily, and you?ll impede rather than help by leaning back. It is actually better to lean slightly forward.
Generally, it is recommended not to mess in the slightest. Novice riders feel safer gripping the reins hard when on the way down a slope, but ideally you must let your pony have lots of free rein so his neck and head can move freely. By tightening up on the reins, you are hampering him and putting him off balance, therefore endangering both his well being and yours.
As a beginner, you must practice going down some gentle slopes before you progressively move onto the gigantic bullies. Practice keeping your position and your balance, and letting the horse have his way. Try and make it second nature to relax on slopes.

DENVER (Reuters) - Accused Colorado gunman James Holmes made threats to a university psychiatrist before a July shooting rampage at a suburban Denver screening of a Batman movie that killed 12 people, according to court documents released on Friday.
The University of Colorado psychiatrist reported those unspecified threats to campus police before the shooting at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," a court document filed a week after the shooting and unsealed on Friday showed.
Holmes, a former neuroscience graduate student, has been charged with murder and attempted murder over the rampage, one of the worst outbursts of U.S. gun violence in recent years. In addition to those who died, 58 people were wounded.
University psychiatrist Lynne Fenton, who has testified that she treated Holmes, 24, more than a month before the July 20 shooting, has said her professional relationship with Holmes ended in mid-June.
"The relationship was terminated after the defendant made threats towards who reported the matter to the University of Colorado (CU) police department," the newly unsealed documents said.
"As a result of these actions, university administration terminated the defendant's access privileges to all or part of the Anschutz campus," the documents said.
The documents said the threats were made to a university psychiatrist, but they were heavily redacted, and Fenton's name does not appear in the document.
Prosecutors have depicted Holmes as a young man whose once promising academic career was in tatters as he failed graduate school oral board exams in June and one of his professors suggested he may not have been a good fit for his competitive Ph.D. program.
They have said that Holmes lost his access to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus after making unspecified threats to a professor on June 12, after which he began a voluntary withdrawal from his program.
ARSENAL OF GUNS
Other court documents among the 57 unsealed on Friday give more insight into a notebook that Holmes mailed to Fenton the day before the massacre.
Prosecutors expressed frustration with a published report saying the notebook was "full of details about how he was going to kill people," and included "drawings and illustrations of the massacre," according to one document.
That information, given to Fox News from an unidentified law enforcement source, violated Holmes' doctor-patient privilege, prosecutors argued in the July 25 document.
Prosecutors said Holmes began "a detailed and complex plan" to commit murder and obtain an arsenal of guns and protective armor after he was denied access to campus facilities.
Holmes' attorney Daniel King, who analysts have said appears to be laying the groundwork for a possible insanity defense, has said his client suffers from an unspecified mental illness and had tried to get help before the shooting.
Previous media reports have said Fenton reported her concerns about Holmes to a campus threat assessment team and a campus police officer.

ScienceDaily (Sep. 27, 2012) ? Anyone who owns an electronic device knows that lithium ion batteries could work better and last longer. Now, scientists examining battery materials on the nano-scale reveal how nickel forms a physical barrier that impedes the shuttling of lithium ions in the electrode, reducing how fast the materials charge and discharge. Published last week in Nano Letters, the research also suggests a way to improve the materials.
The researchers, led by the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Chongmin Wang, created high-resolution 3D images of electrode materials made from lithium-nickel-manganese oxide layered nanoparticles, mapping the individual elements. These maps showed that nickel formed clumps at certain spots in the nanoparticles. A higher magnification view showed the nickel blocking the channels through which lithium ions normally travel when batteries are charged and discharged.
"We were surprised to see the nickel selectively segregate like it did. When the moving lithium ions hit the segregated nickel rich layer, they essentially encounter a barrier that appears to slow them down," said Wang, a materials scientist based at EMSL, the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, a DOE user facility on PNNL's campus. "The block forms in the manufacturing process, and we'd like to find a way to prevent it."
Lithium ions are positively charged atoms that move between negative and positive electrodes when a battery is being charged or is in use. They essentially catch or release the negatively charged electrons, whose movement through a device such as a laptop forms the electric current.
In lithium-manganese oxide electrodes, the manganese and oxygen atoms form rows like a field of cornstalks. In the channels between the stalks, lithium ions zip towards the electrodes on either end, the direction depending on whether the battery is being used or being charged.
Researchers have known for a long time that adding nickel improves how much energy the electrode can hold, battery qualities known as capacity and voltage. But scientists haven't understood why the capacity falls after repeated usage -- a situation consumers experience when a dying battery holds its charge for less and less time.
To find out, Wang, materials scientist Meng Gu and their collaborators used electron microscopy at EMSL and the National Center for Electron Microscopy at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to view how the different atoms are arranged in the electrode materials produced by Argonne National Laboratory researchers. The electrodes were based on nanoparticles made with lithium, nickel, and manganese oxides.
First, the team took high-resolution images that clearly showed rows of atoms separated by channels filled with lithium ions. On the surface, they saw the accumulation of nickel at the ends of the rows, essentially blocking lithium from moving in and out.
To find out how the surface layer is distributed on and within the whole nanoparticle, the team used a technique called three-dimensional composition mapping. Using a nanoparticle about 200 nanometers in size, they took 50 images of the individual elements as they tilted the nanoparticle at various angles. The team reconstructed a three-dimensional map from the individual elemental maps, revealing spots of nickel on a background of lithium-manganese oxide.
The three-dimensional distribution of manganese, oxygen and lithium atoms along the surface and within the particle was relatively even. The nickel, however, parked itself in small areas on the surface. Internally, the nickel clumped on the edges of smaller regions called grains.
To explore why nickel aggregates on certain surfaces, the team calculated how easily nickel and lithium traveled through the channels. Nickel moved more easily up and down the channels than lithium. While nickel normally resides within the manganese oxide cornrows, sometimes it slips out into the channels. And when it does, this analysis showed that it flows much easier through the channels to the end of the field, where it accumulates and forms a block.
The researchers used a variety of methods to make the nanoparticles. Wang said that the longer the nanoparticles stayed at high temperature during fabrication, the more nickel segregated and the poorer the particles performed in charging and discharging tests. They plan on doing more closely controlled experiments to determine if a particular manufacturing method produces a better electrode.

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - Starring on the classic sitcom "Cheers" brought lots of joy to Ted Danson - but ditching work once led to what he calls "the worst day of my life."
In a fantastic oral history of the NBC series in the new GQ, Danson says he once played hooky with Woody Harrelson, George Wendt, and John Ratzenberger.
"Shelley and Rhea were carrying that week's episode, and the guys were just, ?Let's play hooky.' We'd never done anything wrong before. John had a boat, so we met at Marina del Rey at 8 A.M. We all called in sick, and Jimmy caught on and was so pissed."
"Woody and I were already stoned, and Woody said, ?You want to try some mushrooms?' I'd never had them, so I'm handed this bag and I took a fistful," Danson continued. "On our way to Catalina, we hit the tail end of a hurricane, and even people who were sober were getting sick. Woody and I thought we were going to die for three hours. I sat next to George, and every sixty seconds or so he'd poke me and go, ?Breathe.' And I'd come back to life."
Danson and Harrelson weren't the only ones who overindulged, according to producer Dan Shannon, now an executive producer on "Modern Family." He said Kelsey Grammer would "ooze into the studio, his life all out of sorts."
"Jimmy would say ?Action,' and he would snap into Frasier and expound in this very erudite dialogue and be pitch-perfect," Shannon said. "And Jimmy would yell ?Cut!' and he would ooze back into Kelsey - glazed-over eyes, half asleep, going through whatever he was going through. It was the most amazing transformation I've ever seen."
Long also talked to the magazine about how the show kept the will-they-or-won't-they dynamic alive between her character, Diane, and Danson's Sam.
"Our audience was so tuned in to every move, because the flirting between Sam and Diane during the first season was totally outrageous," she said. "There was talk about 'Would it be right to advance the relationship, or could that condemn the relationship?' I put my two cents in - big surprise - and said, 'In a real relationship, you take two steps forward, one step back. So just because we take two steps forward and get all the benefit from that doesn't mean we can't go back or to the side.' Ultimately, that's what worked."
In Europe, a group called NotFound.org is replacing 404 reports with pictures and information about missing children. It's a smart way to occupy that real estate, especially considering in the U.S. alone, 800,000 kids go missing every year. But could this method actually help? Are there any negative side-effects? And aside from being used as a contemporary milk carton, how else could we be using 404 pages more effectively? [Laughing Squid via DVice] More »
It's a simple yet compelling proposition: You've got Netflix and Hulu accounts that let you watch shows on your desktop or laptop PC, but what if you want to take those to a smaller screen like your phone or tablet, or to a larger screen like your HDTV? And what if one of the devices doesn't have an Internet connection, like when you're on a plane? To the rescue comes PlayLater, a follow-on app and service from the folks who brought us PlayOn, a streaming server. The service and software costs $24.99 a year or $49.99 for a lifetime license. Though PlayLater lives up to this billing, using it is not as instantaneous a process as we've become used to in our media consumption, and there are simpler alternatives.
Setup/Signup You get started with PlayLater by downloading the Windows software?sorry Mac fans, there's no Mac OS X version at present. When you run the installer program, it actually downloads and installs PlayOn first, since PlayLater relies on PlayOn functions. PlayOn lets you stream video from your PC to a device such as an Xbox, Roku , or iOS tablet. The installer adds icons for both apps to the system tray from which you can show the app's main windows. I had to allow PlayLater access through my Windows firewall before it would work.
Interface When you start PlayLater, its main window shows a grid of 46 video sources, such as Netflix, HBO Go, PBS, and pretty much every TV provider that has a Web streaming site. But there's a big one missing?YouTube?and you can't simply add any website with video content you like. There is a "plug-in" feature, but the link to information on this offered no help. The simple interface has but four buttons across the top?Guide (which shows the same network grid), My Recordings, Settings, and Help.
Recording Shows Naturally, you have to log in to the video site you want to use. I chose Netflix, which showed a long button saying "Please set Netflix login in PlayOn Sett?" Pressing this button didn't open the settings, but when I clicked the main Settings button, and then chose the Channels tab, I saw the option for Netflix login, along with those for the rest of the 46 content providers. A Test button let me check whether my login was working.
When I tried Netflix, I could browse genres, new arrivals, and my instant queue, but my "Suggestions for you" picks could not be found. Even without logging into Hulu, I could browse genres, see new arrivals, see show and episode listings, and actually start recording them. I clicked on the M.A.N.T.I.S. entry, and then Full Episodes. From here, I downloaded a show episode, and I could also add more shows to my download queue. To my relief, the show didn't have to be playing on my PC to download it: the download happened in the background, though it did take nearly as long as watching the show would have.
Downloading my 45-minute test show took 37 minutes on a reasonably fast cable network, and the resulting file weighed in at 740MB?so not the most efficient codec is used: A half hour show can look fine with 250MB in some formats. After this, its status in My Recordings changed to Recording, so there's more to it than just downloading. This step took another 17 minutes and ballooned the file to 965MB.

There are a number of reasons that minister to this set-back and this essay will not casing them. Instead, we?ll concentration on the characteristics of experiential education and its benefits. EE has been around for centuries and newly there appears to be a resurgence of it due to the insufficient dash opening of normal drill methods. These days it is hard to leave your house without getting unsolicited advice on how to sell your real estate. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether the information provided is of any value to you, and whether or not it is even accurate. If you need reliable guidance in the process of selling property, the following article has been compiled with you in mind.
Have the relevant information that a potential buyer may ask about at hand when selling your home. For example, be able to provide the details of contractors who have worked on the home and what work they have done. This kind of information helps the buyer see how well you maintained your home while you were living there.
Only consider a total home remodeling when the house is totally unusable. A lot of real estate investors, especially those that don?t have much experience, tend to waste their money on a remodel that really isn?t worth it. Try to make the best of the interior you have to increase your profit margins.
TIP! Complete unfinished spaces in your home to appeal better to buyers. It could cost just $5,000 in order to finish a basement and transform it to a game room.
Before ever having an open house or showing your home to anyone, take the time to make the place look fresh. Apply a fresh coat of paint, clean the carpets and consider hiring a professional cleaning company to give the entire house a thorough cleaning. The investment in sprucing up your home is definitely worth the cost.
FSBO sellers should hire a real estate lawyer to help draw up the contracts and close the sale. An attorney like this can help individuals avoid issues or surprises that could happen with the final paperwork.
Don?t stick around while buyers are viewing your home. If you follow them around, pointing out what you think is important, they won?t be able to focus on things they think are important. When you leave a buyer on their own, they form an unbiased opinion.
TIP! Have your home?s heating and air conditioning systems checked for proper working order before you put the home on the market. Buyers will avoid a house that needs immediate and costly maintenance, such as buying a new furnace.
Sellers of real estate often try to avoid listing their property in the winter. Take you own situation into consideration, however, weighing the financial costs of holding the property until the weather is more seasonable. For instance, the longer you retain ownership of the property, the greater your property tax bill will be. Also, if you keep your home during the winter months, your sizable energy bills may eliminate any profits you may have made by waiting to sell in the spring.
Clutter should be cleared from your property to make it more attractive to potential buyers. Purge, clean, and organize closets, leaving behind only a few necessary items. Kitchen cabinets will also make the best impression when they are cleaned out and left with only a few gourmet packages to create a sophisticated feeling.
When you put your home up for sale, offer it at a reasonable price. A great way to do this is to compare other similar homes around the neighborhood, town, county, etc, and find out what they?re selling for. Placing an overinflated value on your house could force you to eventually lower it anyway.
TIP! Do some improvements before you sell your home. This will raise the value.
Try to leave the house when a prospective buyer is coming to check it out. You want to make your buyer feel that your house can be his future home. If you hang around, your buyer will not be able to envision himself and his family living in your house. This might kill a potential sale.
Organize all your closets, drawers and cabinets so they look clean and spacious. Since buyers will be looking everywhere in your home, you want to be sure to clean out every single place possible, which include these trouble spots.
Set up a page on Facebook for your agency and update the public on Twitter as well. You can post or tweet information on new properties in the area, upcoming promotions, or even home improvement and real estate buying tips.
TIP! Using lots of options is imperative when you are trying to sell some real estate. Using every avenue available to you, from the Internet to your agent, you?ll be better able to market your home widely.
Prior to getting involved in a real estate investment, consider the risks involved in a venture of this type. A beginner normally learns the hard way about the downside of this topic. Do invest in learning the business previous to spending any money on properties.
Get the buyers? attention with an inviting home. It can significantly affect how many people come inside for a tour of your home during open houses.
Spruce up the loo before you think about listing your house on the market. Add new lights or fixtures. If you can create a spa-type atmosphere in the bathroom then your prospective buyers will want to linger and enjoy it.
TIP! Don?t be tempted to use fragrances or light incense prior to a home tour. Many people do not like strong scents, while others could be allergic to them.
Wipe down the windows from both the inside and outside to make your home sparkle. The natural sunlight really opens up dark spaces, and clean windows can hide the fact that the actual hardware may be a little outdated. Potential buyers will certainly perceive the change although they won?t realize that it was accomplished by two or three hours of window washing.
In conclusion, it can be trying to listen to so-called experts give you their opinion on selling real estate. The tips and tricks in this article have been widely proven time and time again. Hopefully this article will help to either clear up what you were unsure about, or give you some new
Do you know television took 30 years to reach a mass audience while broadband has taken just three years? According to estimates, by 2010 most people will be watching TV via high-speed internet.
Understandably, internet advertising is becoming a preferred marketing tool for companies which have an online presence. Today almost every company worth its salt needs to have a web presence, and if your website doesn?t stand out in a crowded market, you won?t sell!
As more and more companies jump on to the online marketing bandwagon, this rapidly growing trend has spun two online revolutions:
? Online marketing, especially search engine optimisation and pay-per-click campaigns, is giving traditional offline advertising a run for its money.
What you need to keep in mind is: If you don?t play your online marketing cards right, you stand to lose out on a huge global market that is within your reach.
? A growing number of internet marketing companies are beginning to compete for a share of the huge and rapidly growing online marketing industry.
What you need to keep in mind is: How you succeed in your internet marketing campaign is going to depend to a large extent on how you choose your online marketing company.
Advertisers are increasingly preferring online media over offline media for their advertising and marketing campaigns. The phenomenal success of the search engine Google is evidence of a clear shift from traditional advertising towards online media.
For instance, Google and Yahoo?s pay per click (PPC) campaigns are becoming the preferred marketing mediums for advertisers, who are now setting aside a significant part of their marketing budgets for online marketing.
Google has rewritten the rules of online marketing and promotions. Other leading search engines such as Yahoo and MSN are also coming up with innovative strategies and technologies to make it easier for users to find what they are searching for.
With competition hotting up between the search engines, companies that have an online presence are competing against each other to gain maximum visibility in these search engines.
The result is that internet marketing has moved on from having merely static websites to highly specialised and competitive strategies and Web 2.0 technologies such as search engine optimisation, PPC campaigns, viral marketing, social networking, internet advertising, tagging, blogging, wikis, and more.
Online media has definite advantages
Online media has some definite advantages over offline media in terms of cost, reach, interactivity, targeting the right markets and measuring responses. For instance, pay per click campaigns provide the most qualified leads and are proven to have highest sales conversion rate.
There are several techniques of search engine promotion such as SEO, PPC, Banner Exchange, Link Building, and so on. Let?s have a look at the advantages of online promotions over offline promotions:
1. Online advertising is relatively cheaper. It includes booking ad space in other websites, launching SEO or Pay-Per-Click campaigns, email marketing, viral marketing.
Offline marketing is expensive. It includes printing marketing material, placing print ads in newspapers and magazines, booking ad space in public places, producing and broadcasting television or radio advertisements, dispatching direct mailers.
2. Online advertisements are more interactive and therefore more likely to really connect with consumers.
Offline advertisements are generally not interactive.
3. Online advertisements do not violate the privacy of customers.
Offline advertisements such as cold calling violates your customer?s privacy.
4. Email marketing enables instant business communication whether the customer or business affiliate is across the street or across the globe.
Offline advertisements have a limited reach in terms of distance.
5. Advertising on the internet is not bound by time limits. Marketing campaigns can continue for as long as you want (often at minimal extra cost).
Offline promotions, be it print ads or radio/TV ads are usually bound by time limits.
6. Customer queries can be solved instantly and very cheaply in online media as visitors can themselves look up the website for further information.
This facility is often lacking in offline media, or would require expensive resources like call centre staff to service customer enquiries.
7. Customers can look up online advertisements at their own convenient time.
In offline determines when a particular advertisement should be broadcast or printed. If you miss it, it?s gone!
8. Search engine optimisation and pay per click is demand driven, as your company?s products and services appear at the exact time when the customer is seeking those services. This means you have a much higher chance of converting a lead into a sale.
Offline promotion is usually interruptive and blanket-targets an audience whether they are seeking your services or not.
9. Online marketing can access millions of potential customers across the globe with just a few clicks.
In offline promotiont it is impossible to reach millions of customers at one go unless you have an exceptionally large budget (e.g. a Superbowl TV spot).

What do you want your children to remember of you? That I loved them and supported them always. That it was important to be a good citizen ? respect, love and help others. That it was important to live life to the most ? put your all into whatever you did. That it was important to look after yourself ? physically and mentally.
What do your remember of your father? Always had time for me. Taught me the importance of your family and friends. Taught me to swim and fish. Came to everyone of my junior footy matches ? U10 to U18. Taught me to be a good citizen and always helped and gave to others wherever he could. Taught me the basics of running a business. Together with Mum gave me every opportunity to lay the foundations for life as I know it now.
I admit I went into HTC's Windows Phone 8 launch on September 19 not expecting a whole lot. I say this as a HTC Trophy user who opted for this same-old, same-old phone because it was -- and still is a year-plus after I bought it -- the only Windows Phone on Verizon.
I came away pleasantly surprised and interested in getting a real hands-on with the HTC Windows Phone 8X and 8s, both of which are slated to be available in November on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile here in the U.S.
No one has gotten an actual hands-on in the real sense with any of the Windows Phone 8 devices announced and shown to date, including the Samsung ATIV S, the Lumia 920 and 820 and/or the HTC 8X/8X. There have been some "reviews" and "hands on" videos around the Web. But no reporters or bloggers have gotten to do any real testing of any of these phones, as Microsoft is restricting the handset makers because they are hoping to have something unannounced to still announce on October 29, which is the official Windows Phone 8 "launch"
At today's HTC-reveal event, phones were locked, so we couldn't even scroll on them. But we did get to hold them and listen to music on them. At the recent Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 announcement, I wasn't allowed to hold a phone. I only was permitted to feel the weight of the Lumia 920 when a Nokia employee placed a locked phone on my outstretched hand. Not kidding....
The new HTC Windows Phone 8 phones are thin (see image, courtesy of WinSuperSite's Paul Thurrott, above). That is a shot -- with me as "hand model" -- of the Lumia 900 and the new HTC 8X -- stacked side-by-side. Like the Nokia Lumias, they are colorful -- red, blue, white, gray, orange, yellow, black and a couple of four different two-toned models thrown in for good measure. Because Beats audio is integrated into the phones, they have great audio. The HTC 8X will have a front- and rear-facing camera both; the 8S, a rear-facing camera only. But the 8S will have support for a removable microSD, while the 8X will not. If you want the spec list for the two new HTC Windows Phones, my ZDNet colleague Matthew Miller has a good list.
So the look and feel of the HTC 8X and 8S was a pleasant surprise. But the positioning of these phones was even more surprising.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer made a guest appearance at the HTC launch today, just like he did at the recent Lumia Windows Phone 8 unveiling. But at the HTC event, Ballmer and the HTC execs both played up the "we" factor, citing Microsoft's influence on the development of the new phones. They also said the new HTC phones would be the "signature" Windows Phone 8 devices, and that HTC and Microsoft would work together on a massive integrated marketing and promotion campaign.
Here's a screen shot, supplied by @Brano_H from the HTC Elevate site that proclaims the HTC phones are the "first Signature Windows Phones" (implying more Signature phones may be coming... maybe?).
Maybe this was just talk to make HTC -- one of the four five remaining Windows Phone handset makers (along with Nokia, Samsung, Huawei and ZTE) -- feel like it's on par with Microsoft's premiere Windows Phone partner, Nokia. Or maybe it signifies HTC is getting more Microsoft love than any of the other three these days? I asked Microsoft to explain the significance of "signature," but haven't received any word back.
I don't care who Microsoft's favorite Windows Phone dance partner is these days. I will say I am relieved that as a Verizon user I will finally have more than one Windows Phone to choose this fall.
